With the 13 series, Weidemann has been successful on the market in the fields of agriculture and horse management, municipalities as well as trade and industry for many years. The models have been constantly revised in recent years and finally resulted in the Type 1380 with an extremely high level of configuration diversity, which has been further expanded in the now new model in favor of the variety of applications. The successful model has now been relaunched due to the engine conversion to emission standard level V and has been fundamentally revised. The performance of the new Hoftrac 1390, for example with regard to motorization, axles and hydraulic power, can be adapted very well to the respective work tasks in different industries. The tipping load with the shovel straight is between 1,610 and 2,100 kg - depending on the engine and equipment of the machine. With the newly developed, electronically controlled drive ecDrive, the user has more options for use and a completely new driving experience. The very good space available in the driver's cab and cab is unique in this size class.

Different engines for optimal performance development.

The 1390 will be offered in three Yanmar engines in the future. The entry-level engine is 18.4 kW / 25 PS and the larger variant is 33.3 kW / 45.3 PS. There is also another powerful engine with an output of 40.1 kW / 54.5 PS.

According to the manufacturer, the new entry-level engine should have a performance that is above the horsepower class. How that is, one may ask. The solution: Weidemann's exclusive, newly developed electronically controlled drive, the so-called ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive), enables the machine to perform more fully even in lower horsepower classes. Another advantage is that the 25 HP engine complies with emission standard level V and does not require any exhaust aftertreatment. Among other things, this motorization is well suited for users who require fewer operating hours from their machine. A combination of a highly efficient travel drive and an engine without exhaust gas aftertreatment is only offered by Weidemann in this machine class.

With the two 45.3 and 54.5 HP variants, the emission standard level V was implemented by installing a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in combination with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC). The advantage of this technology is that no urea solution (DEF) has to be added. The entire engine unit, including the exhaust gas aftertreatment, comes from Yanmar, so that all components are perfectly coordinated and the machine automatically regenerates at the appropriate operating temperature. The small motor offers a top speed of 20 km / h. With the large engines, you can choose between a top speed of 20 or 30 km / h. The powerful working hydraulics of the new loader are 41.6 l / min or, in connection with the larger engines, 49.4 l / min or optionally 58.5 l / min. The high-flow option is new, with even 84 l / min. The high-flow hydraulics are perfectly suited to permanently call up high hydraulic power for a long time, e.g. in use with a snow blower or large mowers and mulchers.

With the new 1390, you can choose between the following three axles for different thrust: In addition to the standard T94 axle with hydrostatic all-wheel drive without differential lock, the machine can also be equipped with two PA 940 planetary axles with either a 22.7 or 26.4 kN increase in thrust including differential lock. The differential lock can always be activated on these two axles as required and acts 100% on the front and rear axles. This guarantees maximum traction without having a negative impact on fuel consumption or tire wear, as is the case with other systems.

In general, Weidemann paid great attention to improving accessibility for maintenance and service when revising the 1390 model. The bonnet can be opened far upwards and all components that need to be serviced are easily accessible. The tilting driver's platform was also implemented in the 1390, so that perfect access to all components below is guaranteed. The arrangement of the following technical components inside the machine has been redesigned: The routing of hoses and cables with fixed points and holders as well as the placement of fuses, relays and control devices ensure a long service life and short downtimes. In the event of a repair, these can be exchanged quickly and easily.

Weidemann ecDrive - the new electronically controlled travel drive.

With the new electronically controlled drive ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive), the 1390 can be driven and used completely as required. Weidemann implemented four different driving modes especially for this purpose. The auto mode ensures the usual 100% performance of the loader. In Eco mode, the engine speed is reduced to 2,200 rpm after the desired driving speed has been reached, so that both noise reduction and fuel savings are possible. This is easy on the operator and lowers costs. However, the full power is also available to the drive in Eco mode.

The two other optional driving modes are specially designed for the use of hydraulically operated attachments and the optimized execution of the Y-loading cycle. In the so-called attachment mode, the use of attachments is supported. The speed of the diesel engine is set with the hand throttle and the driving speed is regulated with the accelerator pedal or the cruise control. With its help, speeds can be set very precisely in steps of 0.10 km / h via the display. This is a cruise control function. This guarantees a constant feed for the attachment. If the load on the attachment is too high (e.g. various clippings in front of a mulcher), the machine automatically reduces its speed in order to provide the attachment with the highest possible performance. Once the load has been removed, it is regulated back to the preset speed. However, if you want to carry out driving or reversing movements faster, you can override at any time by operating the foot pedal and even bring the machine to maximum speed.

The M-Drive mode is the right choice for the optimal execution of charging cycles with short travel distances, the so-called Y-charging cycles: Here you set the speed of the diesel engine with the hand throttle and control the driving speed or the control pressure with the accelerator pedal. This means that inching is superfluous and the execution of fast Y-loading cycles is supported.

With these new driving modes, the 1390 and the hydraulic oil quantity of the various attachments can be dosed and controlled very sensitively in the application. This makes the use of attachments and the loading game much more efficient and convenient.

The new electric parking brake offers both an auto-hold and hill-hold function. The brake is automatically activated when the machine is stationary, the direction of travel is set to neutral, the driver leaves the seat or turns off the engine. The electric parking brake is also automatically released when the machine is set in motion using the accelerator pedal. Of course, the brake can also be activated or deactivated manually by pressing a switch. Thanks to these automatic functions, there is maximum security combined with a high level of convenience.

Demand-based charging system.

Weidemann offers the right kinematics for all machines for the machine size. Standard on the 1390 is the P-kinematics, which impresses with its precise parallel guidance over the entire stroke range. A longer swing arm version of the P-kinematics is optionally available, which increases the lifting height by 20 cm. P-Z-kinematics are also available, a combination of P-kinematics and Z-kinematics. It enables considerable lifting and tearing forces and has a finely tuned parallel guide.

The standard flat-face hydraulic couplings can be cleaned easily and ensure less contamination in the entire hydraulic system. When coupling the hydraulic hoses, there is hardly any leakage, so that the hands, the machine, the attachment and the ground remain clean. With the flat-face hydraulic couplings, attachments can also be coupled under pressure, which saves time. All coupling types are mounted on the same bulkhead and are therefore easily accessible.

For even easier coupling and uncoupling of hydraulically operated attachments, the 3rd control circuit pressure relief function can also be selected, which is attached to the front of the load arm, easily accessible.

Ergonomic driver's cabs with multifunction joystick.

The machine has a completely newly developed interior and a color-oriented operating concept. The ergonomic driver's cab offers a clear switch arrangement based on a color system. All operating elements are within easy reach and the driver always has the most important machine information in view on the well-arranged display. The steering wheel can be individually adjusted in height and inclination, depending on the driver's requirements. This ensures that every driver can work ergonomically and fatigue-free with the machine. The clarity that was already good in the previous model has been improved again. For example, the roof cutout with protective grille on both the overhead guard and the cab has been enlarged to ensure a perfect view of the working area above. The machine already has LED work lights (2 at the front and 1 at the rear) with 1,000 lumens each as standard. The lighting can be further strengthened to meet different requirements with additional worklights with 2,000 lumens each. This enables safe and individually adapted work with the machine in the dark. Good illumination of the work area allows the driver to work with the machine for a long time without getting tired.

In this size class, the machine has a very spacious comfort cab. The implemented 4-pillar design and the large, curved panoramic rear window, which, in combination with the sloping engine hood, allow an excellent view to the rear, are unique on the market. This means that work can be carried out comfortably and easily under tight conditions, and Weidemann is setting new standards in terms of safety. The cabin machine has coming home lighting as standard, with which both the work lights and the light in the cabin stay on for 20 seconds after the engine has been switched off. In addition, the left step is illuminated, which enables the driver to get on and off safely and comfortably, especially in the dark.

You can choose between two different door variants for the cabin: it is either available with one-piece glass doors, which guarantee a very good view to the sides and can be set up perfectly for gap ventilation in summer. Optionally there is a variant with two-part doors in which the upper window can be opened with a gap ventilation or by 180 °. Both door variants can be locked to the rear when opened by 180 °, so that you can work with them completely open. With these different options, the driver can decide individually and depending on the temperature how to organize his work climate in the cab.

With the new multifunction joystick, the driver can operate many functions with one hand. The basic function of the 3rd control circuit can be operated proportionally by deflecting the control wheel to different degrees. The permanent function of the 3rd control circuit is easily activated via a button on the keypad and can also be conveniently controlled with the joystick - by moving the control wheel in both directions. In addition, the two electrical functions can be pressed or latched independently of one another on the joystick.

Clear display and wedias diagnosis and analysis system.

With the well-positioned display, the driver has an optimal overview of the machine. In addition to standard displays such as temperature, tank filling or operating hours, the active functions are also displayed in the cockpit, for example the switched on electrical functions, the continuous operation of the 3rd control circuit or the switched on differential lock. With the Weidemann diagnosis and analysis system wedias, many functions, including the drive function, the 3rd control circuit, the motor data and the electrical functions, can be evaluated quickly and clearly. Active messages on the display immediately alert the driver to possible errors and enable them to react quickly. Thanks to the exact naming of the error number, the dealer can come to the machine prepared and with suitable spare parts. The subsequent error analysis simplifies further diagnosis and troubleshooting enormously. That saves time and money and is easy on the nerves.

A good working atmosphere in the cabin included.

The new 1390 has also changed something in terms of the working environment: with the installation of a new, more efficient heating and ventilation system with fan, fresh air filter and well-placed air nozzles, the working environment has been significantly improved in the cabin. If the outside temperature is particularly warm, the optionally available high-performance air conditioning system is recommended.

Trailer operation.

With the optional trailer coupling, the 1390 can tow a trailer with a total weight of up to 3.5 t. An automatic or a ball head K50 trailer coupling is available. The possibility of pulling a trailer expands the range of uses of the machine and offers more flexibility in use, as no additional towing vehicle is required.

New dynamic design.

A lot has also happened in terms of appearance: with the complete overhaul of the 1390 and the many new functions and features, Weidemann has also given the machine a visual face-lift. A dynamic, distinctive line can be seen above all on the bonnet with modified air flow and the new, distinctive driver's cab and cabin.

All in all, the new Hoftrac 1390 from Weidemann offers many new features and options for individual equipment and very safe and comfortable work. The great variety of configurations of the machine enables the customer to equip the machine in terms of performance and productivity. This should pave the way as one of the successful machines in the Weidemann range.
