Windows 10 has standard folders that cannot be deleted, such as "3D Objects" or "Desktop". If you never use these folders and they just get in the way on your computer, it's easy to hide them. How to hide system folders via the registry

If you want to hide system folders such as "3D objects" or "Documents", the process is a little more time-consuming. The folders can be hidden in the Windows registry and of course reactivated if necessary. To do this, follow our step-by-step instructions and take a look at the brief instructions.

Quick start guide: My Folders

  1. Make one Right click on the folder and go to "properties".
  2. Check the box next to "Hidden"and confirm with"OK".
  3. The folder is still where it was before, but is no longer visible. To the folder visible again to make it, click on "view".
  4. Check the box next to "Hidden elements".
  5. Now do one Right click on the folder and select "properties".
  6. Uncheck "Hidden"and confirm with"OK". The folder is now displayed again.

Quick guide: System folder

  1. over [Win] + [R] and entering "regedit"takes you to the Windows 10 registry editor.
  2. Now navigate to the folder path: "Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ MyComputer \ NameSpace".
  3. First determine which system folder should be hidden. The registry entries of the system folders are as follows:

4. Right click on the entry to be hidden and click on "Rename".
5. In front of the entry, insert "-"Icon and rename it that way.
6. The folder is no longer displayed in Explorer. To restore, rename it again by typing the "-Remove the "symbol again.
