Important customer information

  • The features of the PS3 ™ system vary depending on the model. You can find explanations about this in the documentation supplied with the system.
  • PlayStation®2 format discs and Super Audio CDs are only playable on certain models. For details, see [Types of Playable Discs].
  • Use of the PS3 ™ system and its functions are subject to various end user agreements, which are modified from time to time. Please refer to the SIE website for your region for the latest copies of these agreements and any recent changes to the Terms of Use for the PS3 ™ system, including changes to documentation, user guides, or instructions.
  • To use PlayStation ™ Network features, you must have the latest version of the system software installed on your system.
  • PSNSM and (PlayStation®Store) are only available in certain countries / regions and languages. Contact technical support for your region for more information.
  • Before taking your PS3 ™ system to an authorized service center, be sure to clear the [Remember my password] check box on the PSN login screenSM. This allows you to prevent unauthorized access or the use of your credit card or other personal information. For instructions on how to disable the [Remember Password] option, see (PlayStation ™ Network)> [Save Password / Auto Sign In] in this guide. If there are multiple users on your system for the PSNSM are enrolled, you need to sign up (User) log in for each individual user and deactivate the [Save password] check box.
  • Before giving your PS3 ™ system to a third party for any reason, including return (where permitted) or authorized service, be sure to delete all data and restore the PS3 ™ system to its default settings. This allows you to prevent unauthorized access or the use of your credit card or other personal information. To erase all data and restore the PS3 ™ system to its default settings, select [Restore PS3 ™ System] under (Settings)> (System settings).
  • All internet service charges are the responsibility of the user.
  • A broadband connection is required to access the Internet. Note that dial-up connections are not supported.
  • Some PlayStation® / PlayStation®2 peripherals, such as B. the analog controller (DUALSHOCK ™ / DUALSHOCK ™ 2) may not be compatible with the PS3 ™ system. Contact technical support for your region for more information.
  • The HOME button on PSP ™ (PlayStation®Portable) systems of the PSP-1000 / PSP-2000 series and the PS button on PSP ™ systems of the PSP-3000 / PSP-N1000 series have the same function.
  • Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. owns or manages some or all of the rights to the images and other copyrighted material in this manual.
